Smart Money Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey & Rachel Cruze

Were you taught how to handle money either by your parents or in school?  Me neither.  So as a parent, the thought of helping my children learn about money and how to be good stewards of their finances really appealed to me.

"Smart Money Smart Kids", written by money guru Dave Ramsey and his daughter Rachel Cruze, covers so much more than money management.  They teach about strong work ethic, that money is a finite thing, the joy of saving for something you want, as well as realizing that money is also meant to be given away.

This book includes so many great ideas (like my favorite section on a teen saving for their first car) as well as some basic, common sense information that we all "should" know but don't or don't practice.  The Ramseys even taught their teens how to budget and also the joy of living contentedly within their means.

I am so glad that I read this book!  My children are 13 and 11 and I wish I'd had this book sooner, but I also believe this information is valuable no matter what age they are.

Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided a free copy of this book by Thomas Nelson Publishers in exchange for my honest opinion.
