Murder at the Mikado by Julianna Deering

"Murder at the Mikado" by Juianna Deering is the third book in the "detective" Drew Farthering series... and so far has got to be my favorite.  Set in 1930's England, the murders take place in a theatre where each of the troupe has a pretty good reason to commit the crimes.

If you have a chance to read the first two books, "Rules of Murder" and "Death by the Book", I would highly recommend that as you get to really know all the main characters.  I love how the author is developing Drew's and Madeline's characters and that they are not perfect people.  I appreciated the honesty in their relationship and how past mistakes can come to haunt.  I enjoyed the twists and turns in the plot (like the other books), but I must admit to cheering when the killer was caught.  (Okay, there is more to it than that but I'm not going to say more so I don't give anything away!)

Although these books are "Christian" books, they are fabulously not "preachy" but offer a gentle insight into the life and fallibility of believers all while trying to figure out who the killer is...of all things!

After reading this book, my guess is that, like me, you'll be calling, "Encore!  Encore!"
